This very title might be incomprehensible to most readers of this blog, but for those who were/are really close to me. It is because this is not a usual journey from 9 to 6, the meaning of which is quite evident, instead it is "A Journey from 6 to 9".To start off on a lighter note, let me brief you on how i arrived at this title. I told a few close ones of mine about my intention to write a blog and asked them on their opinion about this title, in fact i asked them to guess what it will be about, the answers i got were really funny. So i thought let me have this as the title of my blog to keep the readers guessing.
A journey can always be of three kinds. The first is where one definitely knows all the milestones ahead of him and most importantly his destination as well. The next is where the traveler is unaware of the route ahead of him but knows his destination. The final case is where one doesn't know his destination and hence quite obviously doesn't know about the road ahead. The last case perfectly portrays my situation when i finished my schooling. I was caught in the junction of one-way roads that will lead me to different destinations. There are times in life when you are suddenly woken up from your dreams, that is exactly what happened to me when i was shouldered the very heavy responsibility of making a decision of choosing one of those roads. A happy, joyful, naughty, playful, unperturbed school boy was asked to take his career decision.Leave alone the fact that i had not taken any major decision in my life that far, the worst part of it all was that i had absolutely no idea of what was ahead in each of those roads. Of course there were people who guided me, but the irony was that none of them had themselves traveled through those roads.Ultimately, people around us- a majority of them- are bothered about where we reach and don't have the patience and time to know how we reached there.
It all boiled down to the last few minutes, when i had to take a decision between going on a road which had been traveled by none before or choosing a one which most people take. I opted for the former.Yes i decided to join BITS-Pilani, Goa Campus over Anna University, Chennai. The reason why i compared the former with a road that had never been taken is because i would be part of the very first batch joining the college. Although this might sound to be a very brave decision, it was actually not. I was too scared about ragging then and hence chose the safest alternative in that regard. According to me, at that point in time, BITS-Pilani had the same brand value, if not more, as that of Anna University. So i got an option to go to a reputed college devoid of ragging and i grabbed it with both hands. After all how many people get such opportunities is a question ,the answer of which is known to most of you. This might seem silly but from the perspective of a guy who has just finished his schooling, it still seems a natural decision to me.
What does all this have to do with the title of this blog? , might be your very next question. In fact the story commences here. Go on and read the others...... Next is on my "Encounter with 6".
